# A self-serve quote tool that prices itself and feeds the CRM

STORSquare rents portable storage across multiple lots and regions. We built a custom quote tool that lets customers self-serve an accurate rental quote and sends every one into HubSpot, so rental coordinators stop quoting by phone and re-keying deals by hand.

The challenge

## What stood in the way

STORSquare quoted portable-storage rentals by phone, with coordinators working from an Excel-derived pricing approximation. The model estimated distance with zip-code bands, so a 20-mile crosstown move could be mis-priced as a long haul, and cross-region or lot-to-lot moves often could not be quoted at all. Every quote that did get made then had to be re-keyed into HubSpot by hand, leaving gaps in the pipeline. They wanted customers to self-serve an accurate quote without losing the personal service the business runs on.

The approach

## How we built it

1. 1 ### Shipped a self-serve quote tool A custom WordPress and Gravity Forms tool, live since early 2025, turns a short form into a branded, shareable quote page, so customers get a number on their own and coordinators are freed for real sales and objection handling.
2. 2 ### Replaced guesswork with real distance The upgrade (built and in final review) swaps zip-code bands for live Google Maps distance, with a call-for-quote threshold so edge cases route to a human instead of auto-pricing badly. It prices the crosstown and lot-to-lot moves the old tool got wrong or could not quote at all.
3. 3 ### Fed every quote to the CRM As part of that upgrade, every quote is built to flow into HubSpot automatically instead of being re-keyed, so the sales pipeline stays complete. STORSquare can edit lots, pricing, and field mappings themselves, with a debug trace to test calculations without us.

The results

## What changed

In production since 2025

Self-serve rental quotes

Customers get a branded, shareable quote from a short form, so coordinators spend their time selling, not quoting by phone.

Real distance

Pricing that holds up

Live Google Maps distance replaced zip-code bands, fixing crosstown mis-quotes and the cross-region moves the old tool could not price at all.

Into HubSpot

Quotes stop falling through

Every quote is built to flow into the CRM automatically instead of being re-keyed by hand, so the pipeline stays complete.

In their words

> “One of the custom plugins they built has been a game changer. It has streamlined our internal operations, improved our sales tracking and reporting, and even helped us book more portable storage rentals through the website. The entire team has been knowledgeable, responsive, and easy to work with throughout every project, and even though we’re not local, they’ve made the remote process seamless with excellent communication and quick turnaround times.”
